White and Pink, a special DMT for the Rockets

A moment as special as a first-ever debut in a Grand Tour deserves special shoes. DMT has finalized in recent days a unique edition of KR0 EVO Superlight designed for the Unibet Rose Rockets, which with its participation in the Giro d’Italia has written another incredible chapter in its young history. For a team that breaks the mold, the Verona-based company went even further, trying to represent the essence of the Franco-Dutch team: the Rockets. Against the shoe’s characteristic white background, pink details and a pink rocket stand out, perfectly matching both the color of the Giro and the Unibet livery.

The shoe was a “surprise gift” for the team. Although already available to the team, the athletes currently racing in the Giro d’Italia will not wear them immediately because, as Sprint Coach Marcel Kittel, jokingly pointed out, “it’s always better not to change shoes during a Grand Tour”. For now, the classic white KR0 EVOs will continue to be used, but between now and Rome the Rockets will surely find a way to show them off. “We team founders will wear them immediately. We are easily recognizable because we have hair on our legs,” said Bas Tietema.

KR0 EVO Superlight: lightweight and aerodynamic

The KR0 EVO is the historic model designed and developed together with Elia Viviani, featuring an adjustable dual-rotor closure manageable even during moments of maximum effort in racing. It is generally more suitable for powerful athletes with fast characteristics, and it is no coincidence that they were chosen by a powerful and explosive rider like Dylan Groenewegen. The Superlight model is aimed at those seeking the ultimate in lightness, comfort, and aerodynamics. Every detail has been designed to optimize efficiency on the bike, starting from the Aeroflex Knit upper, made with a new technical yarn that combines resistance, breathability, and flexibility, naturally adapting to the shape of the foot. The microfiber tongue improves the wrapping sensation, while the adaptive TPU instep band ensures precise and comfortable support even during maximum power phases. Completing the fit system, the dual BOA® Li2 allows micrometric and independent adjustment, ensuring a customized fit for every foot anatomy. The heart of the performance is naturally the Superlight carbon sole, designed to maximize stiffness and power transfer while keeping the weight to only 215 grams in size 42.

“The KR0 EVO Superlight model was conceived precisely as a top-of-the-range product with its own identity and visibility, even alongside a very strong model like the Pogi’s, which for obvious reasons attracts enormous attention,” explained Mattia Viel, Global Sponsorship Manager at DMT.
