The first company was called Diamant di Federico Zecchetto, and operated on the market with a limited manufacturing of footwear for cyclists, crafted by hand and in small quantities. The years that followed saw the introduction of new manufacturing techniques and materials, allowing Diamant to expand its standards and start mass production.

Federico Zecchetto decided to create the DMT brand, focused on manufacturing professional cycling shoes. This was further confirmation of the company’s symbiotic relationship with the sector, its enthusiasts, and professional cyclists, adopting a craftsmanship that was skillfully intertwined with industrial production processes.

Diamant S.r.l. was founded, with new goals and ambitions concerning the research, development and manufacturing of various types of highly innovative sports shoes, also thanks to partnerships with a number of premium brands in the sports sector.

With the aim of optimizing costs and improving production quality, Diamant S.r.l. acquired a stake in a newly established Bosnian company called Odesa Co d.o.o., which immediately specialized in the production of uppers.

The collaboration between DMT and Elia Viviani officially begins, who becomes a reference point for the development of new products and their related road testing.

Diamant S.r.l. proceeded with the merger of the two affiliated companies into a single legal entity. Thus, Sportek d.o.o. was established to further optimize market opportunities. Over the years, Sportek d.o.o. expanded its industrial base to nine production units, all located in Kotor Varoš.

The collaboration with BOA Fit System begins, a company specialized in closure systems that use dedicated dials, laces, and custom guides to fasten the shoe in a practical and quick way.

Elia Viviani returns to wearing DMT and wins his first stage at the Giro d’Italia.

The year saw the introduction of “Engineered 3D Knit” technology, used for what was the first shoe with a fully knitted upper. The shoe’s innovation quickly went on to meet the needs of demanding athletes such as Elia Viviani. DMT was also the first brand to bring this technology to its road range.

The year marks the beginning of the collaboration with Slovenian champion Tadej Pogačar, who wears DMT and collaborates on the development of a new model in the 2022 range.
